New Delhi: The smartphone market is changing rapidly and new phones are constantly being launched. Despite the availability of many budget devices in the market, users are choosing more midrange smartphones. According to data shared by market research firm Nielsen, smartphones priced above Rs 15,000 between May and July have now become the first choice of buyers. The sale of such phones has doubled despite the lockdown caused by Covid-19.
In the fashion category, buyers bought more than Rs 500 worth of products and about 40 per cent of the products were ordered in this category, the report said. Sales of electronics and home appliances also increased by 26 per cent during the period and more electronics were purchased during December-February. Mobiles and accessories accounted for about 48 per cent of the sales on all e-commerce platforms.
Because of this, the popular midrange phone is
clear that the interest of users in midrange smartphones has increased and this is the reason why companies are also bringing smartphones with better innovations and features in the segment between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000. Many budget smartphones are offering good performance users but have a large userbase that is willing to spend more and does not want to compromise with features. This is because the midrange segment is becoming more popular compared to the budget.
Demand for good processors
The changes in the market show that where earlier users wanted to buy phones priced at Rs 10,000 and below, now their needs have also increased. Even though companies are bringing well-performing phones with powerful batteries and cameras for less than Rs 15,000, users have more confidence in those devices, which come with better processors. This is beneficial when multitasking and gaming.
