Experts say that the drug Ramdasivir could be dangerous for patients with coronavirus who have kidney or liver problems. Remedacivir should not be given to corona patients suffering from liver or kidney disease. Warnings have also been issued for the use of ramadesivir in pregnant and lactating women.
Talking about this, a doctor said that even the family members of Corona's patient are constantly demanding that the patient be given Ramdasivir during treatment. This often puts doctors under more pressure. It is important to test the patient's liver and kidney function before using Ramdasivir. Remedacivir may not be used on every coronavirus patient. Experts say that the use of remedivir can lead to liver toxicity in patients with chronic liver disease.
The DGCI authorized the production and marketing of the investigative antiviral drug Ramdasivir for the treatment of corona virus patients. The drug is sold in India under the name 'Covifor'. This drug is used in the treatment of corona. The maximum retail price is Rs 5400.
It is to be noted here that the demand for remedesivir has increased tremendously nowadays. Demand for ramadesivir has increased due to improvements in the recovery period of corona patients in clinical trials. US-based Gilead Science, which owns the production rights to the drug, has struck deals with four Indian pharmaceutical companies.
