Hang pictures of those whose work is delayed: Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi:
Government officials got angry look of Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and State Roads. Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday lashed out at the officials at the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for sluggish work at a virtual event in Delhi.

During the inauguration of Dwarka's new NHAI building through video conferencing, Gadkari said that photographs of officials who have delayed their work should also be hung on this building for 12 years. In his address, Gadkari said, 'There is a great need for improvement in NHAI.

Now there is a need to show the way out to those non-performing assets (non-functioning officers), which complicate things and create bottlenecks. This project of 50 crores was decided in 2008. Its tender came out in 2011 and now it is completed after nine years.

Union Minister Gadkari said, the indolent, corrupt and corrupt people of NHI are so powerful that they take their decisions wrong even after the ministry says. It is time for such incompetent officers to show their way out. Nitin Gadkari's anger at the officers continued. He said that I feel ashamed. I personally had three to four meetings for this.

I have been insisting on reforms. Now as is the tradition, records will be produced to convict contractors alone. He warned the officers to recover. Gadkari said that honest officers need to be supported, otherwise they will not be able to take decisions.

Gadkari said that better quality infrastructure projects that will be completed on time will help in achieving the goal of self-reliant India. He said that the biggest problem is to get environmental clearance. Addressing the same program, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that infrastructure is the backbone of self-reliant India.
