New Delhi: November 30 marks the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. On this special occasion 551 Sikhs of India will visit Nankana Sahib (Pakistan), the birthplace of Guru Nanak. The Ministry of External Affairs informed on Thursday that on the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a batch of Sikhs from India will visit Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, the birthplace of Pakistan, and the yatra will take place from November 27 to December 1.
On November 27, these pilgrims going to Pakistan via Attari-Wagah road border will be directly transported to Sri Nankana Sahib by special buses. Pilgrims will be allowed to visit the Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib and its nearby Gurudwara Sahib. Devotees will be able to join the city kirtan to be decorated in the Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib.
After the conclusion of the religious gathering of Prakash Parv on 30 November, they will be sent to India via the Wagah border. Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said that the visit would be under the bilateral protocol of 1974 for the visit of religious places between the two countries of India and Pakistan.
Asked at the digital press conference whether the Kartarpur Corridor would be opened for the Sikhs to visit Pakistan on the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Anurag Shrivastava said that this and related issues have been discussed with the officials concerned in the ministry. Srivastava said, it has been decided that on the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a batch of Sikhs from India will visit 'Birth Place Gurdwara Nankana Sahib' from November 27 to December 1.
An official of the country's Waqf Board said, "All pilgrims coming to participate on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev will have to follow the standard operating procedure of Kovid-19 during the entire period of stay and compulsory negative investigation of Kovid-19 They will have to follow them even after showing the report.
