Apart from India, Britain, France, Belgium and the Philippines are among the countries where China has decided to ban the entry of citizens. Meanwhile, the Indian Foreign Ministry has said that the announcement by the Chinese embassy is a temporary measure. Changes will be made over time. The move is not India-centric. Many other countries have also announced such steps.
China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Chinese embassy in India will not stamp the health declaration form for visa holders. The statement said, Chinese diplomats, foreigners holding service, etiquette and C-visas will not be affected. Foreigners visiting China in an emergency can submit a visa application to the Chinese Embassy / Consulate in India.
Sources, however, say that China's decision is only to temporarily suspend existing visas. As the notice indicates, future visa applications have not been banned. Visas issued after November 3 are valid for travel to China. Sources said, the steps taken by China are not only for India.
Similar measures have been announced in relation to many other countries. According to sources, India feels that the current decision reflects Chinese concerns over the possible increase in Kovid 19 cases due to winter. The rejection of non-Chinese travelers from Britain came as England entered a month-long lockdown starting on Thursday.
The corona virus death rate in the UK is the highest in Europe and it is battling over 20,000 new corona virus cases daily. Belgium has the highest per capita number of new cases of Koreana, while the Philippines has the highest number of infections and deaths in South-East Asia after Indonesia.
