Dhanteras will be celebrated across the country on November 13 this year. Trayodashi will begin at 9:30 pm on November 12, and will last till 5:59 pm on November 13. Trayodashi is falling in Udaya Tithi and Pradosh Kaal. Because of this, Dhanteras will be celebrated on Friday, a day before Deepawali.
As everyone knows, people shop fiercely in India on the day of Dhanteras. It also purchases new clothes and worship materials along with gold and silver. Many people also buy such things, which should not be purchased.
It is believed that by purchasing gold, silver and utensils on the auspicious time of Dhanteras, prosperity prevails in the family throughout the year. Do not buy black items: Dhanteras is considered to be the most auspicious day and one should avoid bringing black things at home. Black color signifies unlucky or bad luck. Dhanteras is a day of progress and good fortune. Therefore, one should always avoid shopping for black things on Dhanteras.
Do not buy glassware - One should not buy glassware on Dhanteras. There is a popular belief that glass also belongs to Rahu. Rahu's eyesight always remains on purchasing glass items, due to which people can be troubled.
Do not even buy items made of iron - One should not shop for items made of iron on the day of Dhanteras. There are many reasons for this, but the most prominent of these is the reason that on this day, buying items made of iron brings an ominous shadow of Rahu on the family. It is believed that buying iron items increases people's troubles.
Do not buy steel utensils - Generally people go to the market in the name of shopping on Dhanteras and buy anything without thinking. They do this even for lack of information, but on this day should not buy things made of steel.
