Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. Some children do not gain weight despite getting enough food. Very few children are healthy and parents complain that their child is thin, weak and underweight. If you feel like this too, you can help them gain weight by including some things in their diet.
Bananas
Bananas are rich in potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and carbohydrates. It also has a good amount of calories, which helps the child to gain weight. If the child is small, you can give it by mashed banana and if it is big, you can give it by making a smoothie or shake from it.
Sweet potatoes
Boil and mash the sweet potatoes and feed them to small children. It is nutritious and easily digested. Sweet potatoes are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Copper, Phosphorus, Potassium and Magnesium. Dietary fiber is also found in sweet potatoes. You can make a puree out of it and give it to the baby.
Lentils
Lentils contain protein, magnesium, calcium, iron, fiber and potassium. You can also give lentil soup or water to a six month old baby. You can also feed the baby lentil mash. You can give oatmeal to a 7 to 9 month old baby.
Ghee and ragi
Ghee is high in nutrients. You can start feeding ghee to an eight month old baby. You can give it to the child by adding ghee in oatmeal or lentil soup. Doing so will keep the baby healthy and also increase the weight.
- Apart from this, ragi works as a superfood for weight gain and healthy development of the baby. It is rich in dietary, fiber, calcium, iron, protein and other minerals.
Eggs and avocado
Eggs are rich in protein. After the baby is one year old, you can feed him eggs. It contains saturated, fat, protein, vitamins and minerals. You can boil the egg and give it to the baby.
- Avocados are rich in vitamins E, C, K and folate, copper, dietary fiber as well as pantothenic acid. It contains high amounts of fat. You can add avakado to the milkshake.
