Ranchi: Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Yadav is serving a sentence in jail in the much talked fodder scam case. Lalu Yadav, who has served half of his sentence, will be heard in the Ranchi High Court today. Lalu Prasad Yadav's lawyer Prabhat Kumar said that he will come out of jail only after Lalu Prasad Yadav gets bail in the Dumka Treasury case.
If everything goes well then Lalu Yadav will get bail today. Lalu Prasad's lawyer Prabhat Kumar said that in the case related to the Dumka treasury, Lalu's half sentence will be completed on November 9, after which bail is expected to be granted in that case also. He informed that half the sentence in this case is being completed on November 9.
In view of the holiday in the High Court regarding Durga Puja and Diwali, a bail petition has been requested for hearing on Friday. The court will open at 10.30 am. This case is number 17 on the cause list. The hearing will be done through video conferencing. Let me tell you that Lalu Prasad Yadav has been in jail for 42 months in Dumka Treasury case.
In this case, they are expected to get bail on the basis of serving half the sentence. In addition to the basis of deducting half the sentence, Lalu has also claimed 16 types of diseases including kidney, heart disease and sugar.
If the Dumka treasury gets bail in the embezzlement case, the RJD supremo will be released from jail. Yadav has been convicted in four cases of fodder scam, out of which two have already been granted bail in two cases of Chaibasa and one in Deoghar.
