Love Jihad: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said - Yogi Adityanath Zindabad

Let me tell you that yesterday, in the cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the draft of the illegal conversion law 'Uttar Pradesh Law Against Religion Conversion Prohibition Ordinance-2020' was approved. Under this, any conversion from one religion to another would be unlawful by seduction, coercion, fraud, fraud, temptation or any fraudulent manner or marriage.

On doing this, a maximum sentence of 10 years will be given. There will also be a fine of Rs 25 thousand. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said in election rallies recently that his government will bring a law to deal with 'Love Jihad'. The ordinance sets out provisions on all aspects of conversion.

According to this, if the interested parties want to convert, the concerned parties will have to inform the District Magistrate two months in advance on the draft. Violation can lead to a sentence of six months to three years. The minimum fine for this offense has been fixed at Rs 10,000.
