Reliance to give 'Golden Touch' to Kamakhya temple, dome covered with 19 kg gold

Guwahati:
The beauty of the famous Kamakhya temple in Assam, which is one of the Shakti Peeths of the country, is about to be enhanced. The temple will now shine with gold. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is to decorate the dome of the temple with 19 kg of gold.

By Diwali, the dome of the temple is to be gilded. The artisans of Mumbai are constantly working for this so that this work can be completed within the stipulated time. According to Reliance Industries sources, the company's chairman Mukesh Ambani is personally interested in the project. Work is currently underway to gild the three main urn of the temple dome. The work has been assigned to the jewelery division of Reliance Industries.

The gold decoration work on the dome is now nearing completion. With the blessings of mother Kamakhya, we will be able to complete the work in the next two weeks, the sources said. He further said that the copper design for the main structure of the temple on Nilachal hill has been prepared and gold plating is underway.

Mohit Chandra Sarma, head of the Kamakhya Temple Trust Board, said that beautifying the temple with gold would enhance its beauty. The temple has recently reopened after being closed for several months due to the corona virus. Devotees will find something magnificent when they come here for worship and darshan. We hope that this will also increase the number of devotees coming here.

The temple was proposed for gold decoration by Reliance Industries in September and work began shortly thereafter. According to temple sources, state health minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma is a devotee of Mata Kamakhya and has been instrumental in drawing Ambani's attention to this beautiful temple.

Reliance Industries has not disclosed how much the project will cost but according to company insiders, the total cost of the project will be around Rs 10 crore.
