Rohit Sharma Injury Controversy: Find Out The Whole Incident And Questions Against It In 13 Points

Injury and fitness of India's star opener Rohit Sharma's hamstring is currently the most talked about topic in Indian cricket circles.
There is also a lot of confusion about how serious his injury is. Which is why this discussion has also become a controversy. Rohit Sharma is currently captaining the Mumbai Indians in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League. He has not played in the last few matches but he did play in the final league match of the tournament against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. He had also practiced before the match which has raised questions about how injured he is. Let's understand Rohit's injury in 13 points.

Rohit was injured on October 18

1) Rohit suffered a hamstring injury in the second leg match against Kings XI Punjab on October 18. The Mumbai Indians team said he suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg. He then lost four matches to Mumbai.

2) On October 25, a day before the BCCI's selection committee was to select the ODI, T20 and Test teams for the tour of Australia, Team India physio Nitin Patel submitted a report to the BCCI and selectors on Rohit's injury.

3) It is being said that the scan report reveals that there is a problem in his ligament. According to a report in the Times of India, Nitin Patel had consulted three different doctors. Rohit was advised to rest for four weeks. One doctor even said that he would have to undergo surgery if needed.

Rohit Sharma was not included in any of the teams

4) The three teams for the tour of Australia were announced by the BCCI on October 26, a week after Rohit's injury. Rohit was a contender for a place in all the three teams but he was not included in any of the teams. It was a clear indication that Rohit's injury was serious and he was unlikely to recover before the tour of Australia. The BCCI's list said the board's medical team would continue to monitor the injuries of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma.

5) In the absence of Rohit Sharma, the selectors made Lokesh Rahul the vice-captain of the limited overs team. But the question is, if the board's medical team is to keep a close eye on Rohit's injury and he is likely to play in the ODI and T20 teams in Australia, then why rush to announce another vice-captain instead? Did the selectors know that Rohit would not be fit before the ODI and T20 series in Australia? If so, why didn't he say that?

The day the team was announced, Mumbai posted a video of Rohit

6) Mumbai Indians posted a video of Rohit Sharma practicing net in the UAE on October 26, the same day the Indian team for the three formats was announced for the tour of Australia. Due to which, Rohit's injury again raised suspicions.

7) When the squad for the Australia tour was announced, former skipper Sunil Gavaskar spoke of showing more transparency over Rohit Sharma's injury. "If we talk about the Test series, it is still a month and a half away," he said. If he is doing net practice for Mumbai Indians, I don't know what kind of injury he has. I think there needs to be transparency and knowing what the problem is can help everyone. Indian cricket lovers deserve to know this.

The statement was made by Board President Ganguly on November 3

8) BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in an interview to PTI on November 3 that Rohit Sharma is currently injured. If he is not injured then why don't we include a player like him in the team? He is the vice-captain of the ODI and T20 teams. I don't know when he will return. He hasn't played since he was injured. We want him to recover quickly. It is the responsibility of the BCCI to select the best players. He will play if he recovers.

9) Asked about the video of Rohit's practice, Ganguly said that he needs to be careful in whatever decision Rohit makes about playing the match. You don't want to see Rohit injured again. His hamstring is injured. So he needs to be careful otherwise it will take a very long time for him to recover. However, the physio of Mumbai Indians is working with him. There is also Indian physio Nitin Patel. Rohit himself knows that this is not just about the IPL or the next series, his career is still long. I’m sure he’s mature enough to understand what’s best for him.

Rohit came on the field on the day of Ganguly's interview

10) On the same day that Sourav Ganguly was interviewed on November 3, Rohit Sharma landed to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai's final league match. He probably wanted to show that he is fit and fine. However, he was able to score only seven runs in batting. Mumbai lost the match by 10 wickets.

11) Rohit said the same thing when he tossed after the match. That said, he has no trouble with his hamstrings. "I am just happy to be back," he said. I look forward to playing some matches here. Rohit's statement is an indication that he will play for Mumbai in the playoffs. This has also led to increased confusion.

Will Rohit Sharma go to Australia with the team?

12) It is being said that Rohit Sharma will leave for Australia on a chartered flight on November 12 with the announced team. He will also be quarantined along with the players and coaching staff and will later practice as per the scheduled schedule.

13) The BCCI is saying that Rohit has a hamstring injury and what kind of injury did he get while he was playing for Mumbai Indians in the meantime? Rohit Sharma is an important player of the Indian team. If his injury becomes more serious then who will take the responsibility?
