MUMBAI: Smita Patil's chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan once took the world by storm. Their appealing chemistry responded to the song 'Aaj Rapat Jai' in the rainy season. The number of Smita Patil's fans was also innumerable. Big B once shared an interesting experience with the actress in an interview.
According to the Hindustan Times, Amitabh said that Smita Patil called him once in the middle of the night. Coolie was shooting at the time. Smita called Amitabh around 2 pm. Smita Patil had a bad dream about Big B that night.
So the actor called to know if he was OK. But the strange thing is that the next day Amitabh Bachchan had an accident on the set of Coolie. He had to be hospitalized. Several surgeries were performed and he was presumed dead for a few minutes before being placed on a ventilator.
Amitabh said, “I was in Bangalore for the shooting of Coolie. I got a call in the hotel room at 2 o'clock at night. The receptionist at the hotel said Smita Patil was on the phone line. I was shocked because I had never talked to him before.
So I picked up the phone thinking it was urgent. Smita asked me if my body was OK. I told him I was fine. He then said that he had a very bad dream about me. And that's why he called me so late at night. But the next day I had an accident. ”
Amitabh Bachchan said that he was quite surprised by this experience. Amitabh Bachchan starred in 'Namak Halal' and 'Shakti' with Smita Patil.
Smita Patil died at the age of 31 while giving birth to child symbol Babbar.
