IND vs AUS: India lead by 82 runs against Australia, Captain Rahane's superb century

With the help of strong bowlers first and then Ajinkya Rahane's innings, Team India has managed to put pressure on Australia in the Melbourne Test.
By the end of the second day's play, India had scored 277 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and also had an 82-run lead. Ajinkya Rahane's 104-run innings has put India in a strong position. Currently, Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja are still at the crease with 40 runs.

Earlier, on the first day of the Boxing Day Test, the Indian bowlers bowled out hosts Australia for 195 runs. Team India started the second day with 36 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Shubhaman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara crossed the 50 mark. However, the team was in trouble after Pujara and Gill were out. In it, Rahane hit a century on the crease as captain. He remained at the crease until the end of the second day's play.

Rahane's 12th Test century
Rahane has scored a century on the second day of the Melbourne Test. This was Rahane's 12th Test century. In which he hit 11 fours. With this, Rahane has become the second Indian captain to hit a century in Melbourne. Sachin Tendulkar had earlier scored a century on the same ground in 1999-2000.

Gill's good innings
After the start of the second day's play, youngster Shubhaman Gill hit some superb shots. But Gil was out for 61. He scored 45 off 64 balls. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja also had a good partnership with Rahane after Rishabh Pant's dismissal. Rahane and Jadeja have put together a 104-run partnership for the sixth wicket.
