India defeated Australia by 11 runs in the first match of the three T20 matches series played at Canberra ground between India and Australia. KL Rahul was the most successful batsman for India in this match. He scored 51 runs in 40 balls in the match. With the help of this innings, KL Rahul broke a big record of former Indian captain and wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
KL Rahul as an Indian wicket-keeper batsman scored his third half-century in T20 International career and he surpassed Dhoni in this matter. Dhoni has played a total of 98 matches in his T20 International career with two half-centuries to his name. Apart from this, only two half-centuries are present in the International T20 in the name of young wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant.
KL Rahul is already in tremendous form since the start of IPL and he scored over 200 runs in the five-match T20 series against New Zealand in the beginning of 2020. Apart from this, he was an Orange Cap holder in the 13th season of IPL and during this time he scored 670 runs in 14 matches.
India are currently ahead of Australia 1–0 in the T20 series and the second match of the series between the two teams will be played on 6 December at the Sydney ground.
