 If you work in a government job or a private company and the funds are cut, then this news means a lot to you. The first day of New Year will bring very good news for crores of government or non-government employees. Be sure to check the account run by the Employees Provident Fund Organization, as the amount deposited in the PF account will increase before January 1. The central government is soon going to transfer a one-time 8.5% interest money to the account of more than 6 crore shareholders.  

In September, in a meeting of trustees led by Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar, the EPFO ​​decided to put the interest at 8.15 per cent and 0.35 per cent in two installments. Labor Ministry has sent a proposal to the Finance Ministry to pay interest rate of 8.5 per cent (full interest at one time) on EPF for 2019-20 earlier this month. The Finance Ministry may approve this proposal in a few days. Through this, account holders working in private companies and losing jobs at the time of retirement get lump sum amount. 

Know how to get balance information

To get the EPF passbook, it is necessary to register on the EPFO ​​website. First, know how you can register yourself.

- Go to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.

- Click on the active UAN (Universal Account Number).

- A new page will appear on your screen. Enter UAN, Aadhaar, PAN and other details. Remember that it is necessary to enter some information. These are marked with red colored astric.

- Click on 'Get Authorization PIN'. A new page will appear on your screen. In this, you will be asked to verify the details entered. OTP will be sent via SMS on mobile.

- Enter OTP and click on Validate OTP and Activate UAN. You will get an SMS with password when UAN is activated. Use this password to log in to your account. You can change your password after logging in.

Downloading EPF statement will have to be done

- Visit the website https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.jsp.

- Enter UAN, password and captcha code. Click on 'Login'.

- After login, select the member ID to view your passbook.

- Passbook is in PDF format, which can be easily downloaded.

- Keep in mind, the passbook Akgempted institutions (Exempted PF Trust) can not be seen. Such institutions manage the PF Trust itself.
