"We need to remember that we started the first and second phase of PMKVY and now we are going to start the third phase within a month ," the minister said . In the third phase, the focus is on strengthening district-level skill committees, Pandey said. So that local skill requirements can be met. The government launched the first phase of PMKVY in 2015 and the second phase in 2016. Under it, a target of skill development was targeted at 1 crore people by 2020.

Millions have been trained

The government launched the scheme in 2015 and revised it in 2016 with a target of making 10 million people skilled by 2020. According to official figures, more than 69 lakh people across the country have been trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana till November 11.
