PM Modi inaugurates Agra metro project, more than 26 lakh population will benefit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today inaugurated the construction work of Agra Metro project through video conferencing. During this, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were involved in the program organized at 15 battalion PAC Parade ground in Agra. According to the information, the Agra Metro project consists of two corridors with a total length of 29.4 km which will connect railway stations and bus stands to major tourist places here like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra. It is being told that about 26 lakh population of the city will benefit from this project. The Taj East Gate Corridor from Sikandra is to be built in the first phase of the project.

In the first phase, metro service is expected to start from Sikandra to Taj East Gate by December 2022. While construction work will start from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar in the second corridor. It is being told that the length of this corridor will be 15.4 kilometers and there will be a total of 14 stations under it. These include Agra Cantt, Collectorate, Subhash Park, Sadar Bazar, Agra College, Sanjay Place, MG Road, Hariparvat Chauraha, Sultanganj Crossing, Rambagh, Foundry Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Agra Mandi and Kalindi Vihar Metro stations.

It is worth mentioning that the contract for the civil construction of the elevated part of the primary section of the Agra Metro Rail Project, Messrs Sam Builtwell Private Limited. Has received According to the spokesperson, more than 26 lakh population will benefit from this project. The metro will be an accessible and luxurious service for about 6 million tourists coming to Agra every year. As a metro rail project, the city of Agra will get a state-of-the-art and world-class 'Mass Rapid Transcutaneous System'. The corridors of Agra metro have been prepared by connecting the 4 major railway stations, bus depots, colleges, major markets and tourist destinations of the city.
