The cheapest SUV launch, Nissan Magnite starts at Rs 4.99 lakh


One more new SUV has entered the sub-4m SUV segment of the Indian car market. 
Auto giant Nissan has finally launched its much awaited new SUV Magnet. The ex-showroom price of this car is Rs 4.99 lakh, which increases variant wise. The price of the top model goes up to Rs 9.35 lakh. Competition in the sub 4m SUV segment in India has intensified as many companies have already launched their products in the segment.

The segment includes Kia Sonnet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 as well as Toyota Urban Cruiser. In such a situation, it is expected that Magnet will succeed in challenging them with its competitive price and first in segment features.

Nissan has introduced five different variants of Magnite called XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O). Whose value is something like this.

- the XV Premium 1.0-liter Turbo Petrol CVT is priced at Rs 9,35,000.

The most amazing thing about this car is that the Magnet is equipped with several Segment First features, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a 360-degree camera. For safety, the SUV is equipped with dual front airbags, tire pressure monitor, ABS with EBD, reverse camera and ISOFIX child seat anchor.

Other features of the car include LED by projector headlamps, cruise control, steering wheel mounted control, voice recognition technology, push button start, electrically adjustable wing mirror and an automatic climate control.

Nissan is also offering an optional technology package with the XV and XV premium variants, which includes additional equipment such as wireless charging, air purifiers, ambient mood lighting and JBL speakers.

In terms of car size, the magnet is 3994mm long, 1758mm wide, 1572mm long and has a 2500mm long wheelbase. The car has a ground clearance of 205mm and a boot space of 336 liters.

As for the engine, it has two separate powertrains to power the magnet, including a new 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine with a 1.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The 1.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 72PS maximum power and 96Nm of peak torque, while the turbo-petrol engine generates 100PS and 160Nm (152Nm with CVT). In addition the SUV 5 speed manual gearbox is standard with both powertrains, while the turbo petrol engine also comes with an optional CVT auto.
