Humans try their best to stay young for a long time , but after a while old age surrounds them. Acharya Chanakya, a great knower of ethics, has also described old age in his book Chanakya Niti . He explains, through a verse, the reason why humans and horses age so quickly. So let's find out in detail about it.
अध्वा जरा मनुष्याणां वाजिनां बंधनं जरा ।
अमैथुनं जरा स्त्रीणां वस्त्राणामातपं जरा ।।
Chanakya believes that for men, excessive walking, tying horses and wearing clothes are the cause of old age. That means all work should be done within limits. Walking more than necessary is tiring and the person begins to feel old. The horse gets old when it is tied. That means work should be taken from the horse. Constant drying in the sun will cause the clothes to deteriorate quickly. There is a saying that fits the words of this verse, why a horse? Why is the water rotten? Why is the bread burnt? There was no turning back.
