New Delhi: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar Announced On Twitter On Thursday That Actor Rajinikanth Will Be Given The 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Javadekar Tweeted, "Glad To Announce The Dadasaheb Phalke Award For 2019, One Of The Greatest Actors In The History Of Indian Cinema. His Contribution As An Actor, Producer And Screenwriter Has Been Distinguished. ''
The Prestigious Award Is Named After Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, The Father Of Indian Cinema And Was Established In 1969. The Award Is Conferred By The Government For Outstanding Contribution To The Growth And Development Of Indian Cinema. The Award Includes Swarna Kamal And A Cash Prize Of 10 Lakhs.
Javadekar Said, “India Gives Dadasaheb Phalke A Film Figure Every Year. This Year The Selection Has Been Made By The Jury, Comprising Asha Bhosle, Mohanlal, Biswajit Chatterjee, Shankar Mahadevan And Subhash Ghai. He Unanimously Recommended That Superstar Rajinikanth Be Honored With The Dadasaheb Phalke Award And We Accept It. "
