Senior doctor Dr Praveen Singh says that sleep has a deep connection with our health. How many hours you are sleeping and whether you are getting good sleep or not, also decides how healthy you are. According to age, everyone needs 7 hours to 15 hours of sleep.
About the newborn baby, doctors tell that they need the most sleep. A baby of 3 to 11 months needs at least 14-15 hours of sleep in a day.
Children from 12 months to 35 months i.e. more than one year and below 3 years of age should have 12 to 14 hours of sleep.
Children between the ages of 3 and 6 need 11 to 13 hours of sleep. About 6-10 year old children, doctors tell that they need at least 10 to 11 hours of sleep. So much sleep is necessary for their better health.
About 9 hours of sleep is necessary from adolescence of 11 years to puberty of 18 years. Adults over the age of 18 require an average of 8 hours of sleep. At the same time, 8 hours of sleep is said to be necessary for the elderly too.
