Under the Income Tax Act , every taxpayer is required to file an ITR for the previous financial year. Those who have not yet applied can file a return for the financial year (2020-21) by July 31, 2021. For the convenience of taxpayers, the income tax department will launch a new website and mobile application from June 7. With this, the taxpayer can easily file ITR by logging in even through mobile.
The Income Tax Department has given this information through its official Twitter handle. A new mobile application will be offered in the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal 2.0. It will help the taxpayers to collect information like ITR form, pre-filled income tax details, simple income tax facility etc. The income tax department will also make available all the important features of the portal on its mobile application.
This new application from the Income Tax Department will make the return filing process better than before. This will speed up the work. Which will also enable taxpayers to get faster refunds. The income tax department is also working on a compliance check utility. In response to the taxpayer's query, the Income-tax department said, "An application developed for taxpayers / collectors under section 206AB / 206CCA will be submitted soon.
Taxpayers can update their profile to provide details of income including salary, assets, business through mobile application. In this regard, the CBDT says that after uploading the TDS and SFT details, the details of the pre-filled form along with salary income, interest, dividend and capital gain will be available.
