Indian team management not supporting chinaman Kuldeep Yadav: Coach Kapil Pandey

Kuldeep Yadav's childhood coach Kapil Pandey, who has been battling poor form for a long time, says that the Indian spin bowler is not getting the necessary support from the team management, which will affect his performance. is falling

Talking to IANS, Pandey said, "We talk about three things that go into making a player successful - discipline, dedication and determination. But we tend to ignore two things – depression and morale, which can affect a player who is not getting support or opportunities from the team management. This is what is happening with Kuldeep."

Chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who hasn't played just one Test, three ODIs and a single T20 International in the last 16 months, is running out of time for India's T20 World Cup squad.

In such a situation, the series of three ODIs and three T20 matches against Sri Lanka could be his last chance to cement his place in the World Cup squad. However, for this he will have to compete with five more spin bowlers.

Pandey said, “Kuldeep has not got any chance to play. He needs support. He took five wickets in Australia (in the fourth Test in Sydney in January 2019) but didn't get a Test to play after that.

This wrist spinner has struggled a lot in the ODI format. He has conceded 209 runs in three ODIs in the last 16 months at the rate of 7.2 in 29 overs. In the last ODI, he conceded 84 runs in 10 overs against England.

Pandey says that whenever Kuldeep was given a chance recently, he came on a flat pitch. He feels the team management disappointed him by ignoring him as a substitute for Ravindra Jadeja and calling Shahbaz Nadeem outside in the home Test series against England in February-March.

Pandey continued, “If the captain, the coach feels that they will play two spinners (against England) and you also have a back-up spinner in case one bowler gets injured, but then you call a bowler from outside. She feeds him and ignores Kuldeep. They could have given him a chance."
