PM Awas Yojana: Initiative of PM Awas Yojana, make short film and win Rs 25,000… Register like this


It is everyone's dream to have their own home. 
To fulfill this dream of people living between poverty and failure, the government runs the Prime Minister's Awas Yojana. Affordable housing is provided not only in villages but also in cities through this scheme to the people suffering from economic shortage.

Two important initiatives have been taken by the government for the promotion and awareness of this scheme. In fact, one of the world's largest affordable housing missions, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U Scheme) has started two unique initiatives. One is - 'Khushiyon Ka Aashiyana' short film competition 2021 and the second initiative is - Dialogue on Awas. Under this, a series of 75 seminars and workshops will be discussed on 'Housing for All', which is to take forward the vision of the Prime Minister.

The ministry had announced

Both these initiatives were announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on June 25, 2021, on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the PMAY-U scheme. On this momentous occasion, PMAY-U achieved a major milestone. The total central assistance released under the mission has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore. The mission has progressed to achieve its target of 1.12 crore houses, the groundwork has been laid for construction of over 83 lakh houses and over 50 lakh have been completed.

Both the initiatives are being implemented in challenge and competition mode as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' program of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of Progressive India and its glorious history of people, culture and achievement. are among the many other programs offered in SOP has already been issued for both.

If you like a short film, you will get Rs 25,000

Applications have been invited from PMAY-U beneficiaries, students, youth, civil society members, institutions and individuals/groups for the short film competition. The broad themes of the six-year journey of the PMAY-U mission and how the mission has impacted the lives of people and has enabled change, dignity and empowerment… short films will have to be made on these topics.

The contest is open to all Indian citizens over the age of 18 and the last date for submission is 1 September. Its results will be declared on September 30, 2021. 25 winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 25000, Rs 20000 and Rs 12500 in three categories along with certificates.

Awareness on 'Housing for All'

The objective of 'Samvad on Housing' is to create awareness, promote discussion, deliberation and dissemination on 'Housing for All' among several stakeholders belonging to various streams like education and engineering, urban community development, planning, finance etc. This will be done through 75 nationwide workshops and seminars to be organized between July 1 and September 30, 2021 by educational institutions and primary lending institutions in collaboration with the States/Centre.

These workshops can be conducted offline through classroom model following all COVID-19 protocols, or can be conducted online. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will issue certificate of participation to all the participants.

According to the report of PIB, both the initiatives are showing enthusiastic participation of the people. For conducting workshops, educational institutions and PLLs can register on PMAY(U) website https://pmay-urban.gov.in/, PMAY-U mobile app.

PMAY-U constantly lays emphasis on connecting with its beneficiaries and working with all stakeholders. Both the initiatives will attract change in the lives of people through their emotional journeys to their own pucca homes, their stories of joy and happiness and the voices and aspirations of all stakeholders.
