If you are a member of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the government body of the pension fund, then it is necessary to link your PF account with Aadhaar. Failure to do so may result in your PF amount getting stuck. On June 15, EPFO had extended the last date for linking UAN with Aadhaar by three months. Now the deadline of September 1 is also close to complete this work. Under the new rule, it is necessary to verify the UN (UAN) i.e. Universal Account Number with Aadhaar.
According to media reports, an interest of 8.5 percent can come in the account of 6 crore PF account holders in this month. Explain that the Modi government has approved 8.5 percent interest for the financial year 2020-21. To take advantage of higher interest, it is necessary that your Aadhaar number is linked to UAN number.
Employees will not be able to do this work if they are not linked with Aadhaar
The EPFO has directed all employers to get their employees' accounts linked with Aadhaar and verified by June 1, under Section 142 of the Social Security Code 2020. Otherwise, employees cannot file electronic challans or returns. In such a situation, the contribution of PF members can stop and the money of the employer will not be credited to the account of the employees. Therefore it is necessary to verify the UAN with Aadhaar.
How to link PF with Aadhaar
- Go to the official website of EPFO www.epfindia.gov.in and login.
- Click on Online Services here. Then go to the e-KYC portal, click on the link UAN aadhar here.

- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number or email ID, from which Aadhaar number will have to be verified.

You can check PF balance through missed call
Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. After this, the EPFO will send the complete details of your PF account to the number through a message. You can also know your PM balance through SMS. For this, you have to send EPFOHO UAN ENG (last three letters are for language) to 7738299899.
