Staff Selection Commission ( SSC ) has made a major change for women candidates of Constable General Duty (SSC Constable GD). SCC has made it mandatory for a female candidate to self-declare her pregnancy status if she qualifies for the physical test. The commission gave this information in the latest notice for SSC Constable GD 2022 candidates. Under the notice, now women candidates will have to tell whether they are pregnant or not. For this, they will have to fill a self-declaration form.

The notice said, 'Women candidates will have to inform about their pregnancy status while reporting for PST (Physical Standard Test)/ PET (Physical Efficiency Test). They will have to give self-declaration in this regard. If a female candidate declares that she is not pregnant, she may be permitted to appear in the PST/PET. It said that if a candidate gives wrong information, he himself will be responsible for any accident that may happen during the test.

What if you get pregnant?

The commission said that if a female candidate tells that she is pregnant, a test will be done to prove it. If the test result is positive, he/she will be declared provisionally unfit for PST/PET round. His candidature will be banned. As per the old rules, candidates who were 12 weeks pregnant or more were not immediately allowed to appear for the physical test.

According to the new rules, the post on which the female candidate was selected. He will be kept in reserve for that and will be re-examined for PST/PET six weeks after the date of delivery. Before appearing in the test, they will have to show a medical certificate. This certificate should be issued by a registered doctor.

The commission said, 'If she is found fit for PST/PET, she will be appointed against the post reserved for her. Under the rules of the government, women candidates will also be given advantage.
