No classroom… no syllabus, children study with their own mind, this is the most unique school in the world!

There is a very special school located in America, where children are allowed to do whatever they want. Here children do their favorite activities.

Imagine a school where no one asked you to do anything. Where there is no curriculum to study. There is no class. There is neither a principal nor teachers in this school. Kids can play whenever they want. There is no one to stop them. can you believe it? Even if your answer is no, but such a school really exists. Actually, there are such schools in America, which are known as Sudbury Valley School. In this school, children are allowed to do whatever they want. These schools are present in many places in the US .

Actually, the Free School Movement started in America in the late 1960s. This campaign took place to change the formal education system. Under the campaign, 25 schools were established in 1967 and then 600 schools in 1972. Schools believed that children should be trusted and allowed to learn on their own. However, soon all these schools were closed due to lack of funds. But one school survived, which was Sudbury Valley School. Today schools that follow the Sudbury Valley School model are called Sudbury Schools.

Who founded the Sudbury School?

The Sudbury Valley School was established in the Framingham area of Massachusetts. The main founders of this school were Daniel Greenberg, Hannah Greenberg, Joan Rubin, Mimsi Sadofsky. These were the parents who could not find a good school for their children. That's why he established the school according to his mind. The founders of the school believed that the existing schools would not last long. He created a school where the wishes of the children were given priority. The founders said that children have a desire to learn, but due to studying in traditional schools, it ends.

How does the school work?

In Sudbury schools, students are asked to be themselves in the classroom. They are advised to work at their own pace. That's why they have unlimited time to do any work. Even if students get bored with the work, it is not seen as a problem. The school believes that it is natural to be bored.

In these schools, children are not taught only in the classroom. This means that there is neither class nor any syllabus here. The education of these schools is different from the traditional schools. In Sudbury schools, classes are organized on the basis of student's choice. In school, children usually do their favorite activities. Here admission is given to children from the age of four to 18 years.
