Nowadays most of the people definitely invest their money somewhere. Women lag behind men in making their own investment decisions. According to the survey, there are very few women who are able to take decisions regarding investment independently. Whereas, the number of men doing this is more. Let's understand it in detail.
According to the survey, about two-thirds i.e. 65 percent of the people take decisions regarding investment independently. But only 44 percent of women do so. This survey has been done by DSP Mutual Fund. He has done this survey in association with research agency YouGov. It has been seen in this survey that what men and women think while taking a decision regarding investment.
67% women seek advice from husbands: survey
It has been found in this study that in the matter of making independent investment decisions, the share of men is much higher (40 percent). At the same time, only 27 percent of women take decisions regarding investment independently. They do not even take the help of any professional advisor for this. Those who take investment decisions by talking with another person, now let's talk about them. According to the survey, 67 percent of the women have said that they invest after talking to their husbands. At the same time, the number of men doing this is 48 percent.
In the survey, 26 percent of the men said that they take their father's advice before taking a decision regarding investment. At the same time, the number of women who do this is only 10 percent. It has also been revealed in this survey that husbands are ahead in giving information about investment to women. According to this, in 21 per cent of the cases, the husband told the women about investing first. Whereas, the fathers who do this are only 12 percent.
Most men claim to be self-taught in investing
With this, the men in the survey said that they learned about investing themselves. The men claimed that they learned investing from their fathers and friends. 15 percent of men learned investing from their fathers. Whereas, the women who do this are only 12 percent. 18 percent people learned investing from friends. Whereas, women who do so are only 11 percent.
According to the survey, 32 per cent women took help from a professional financial advisor in matters of investment. Whereas, only 36 percent of men have done so. Most men (79 per cent) and women (78 per cent) said they did not prioritize gender when choosing a financial advisor.
