Bengaluru Metro Pillar Accident: The family of the deceased refused to take the body… put this condition


Namma Metro and the Government of Karnataka announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh each to the affected family. Describing the accident as unfortunate, the CM said that an inquiry would be conducted and a case would be registered against those responsible.

A pillar of an under-construction metro in Bengaluru fell on a family of four on Tuesday. A woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old son were killed in the incident, while her husband and another child were injured. At the same time, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said that an FIR has been registered against 8 accused. On the other hand, Madan Kumar, the father of the victim's family, says that we will not take the dead body until the license of the contractors is cancelled. Kumar is demanding cancellation of the license of the contractors. He said that we will not take the dead body of our daughter until the license of the contractors is cancelled.

At the same time, Lohit Kumar, the husband of the deceased woman who was injured in the incident, said that he lost everything in the incident. He has expressed grief over this incident and has appealed to the government to ensure that such incidents do not happen again. Describing the incident, Lohit said, 'We were traveling in a two-wheeler. I had to drop them at a respective place and then leave from there. But this incident happened in seconds. When I looked back, I was shocked. Wife and child had fallen. I had nothing in my hand.

Case should be registered against the contractor

The father-in-law of the deceased woman said that he had no idea that two members of his family would lose their lives after getting stuck in a traffic jam on the Outer Ring Road near HBR Layout here. He has demanded registration of a case against the contractor. Talking to news agency ANI, Kumar said that this under construction should be stopped immediately as it is running without safety. He said that many people could have lost their lives if a bus or any other vehicle used this route.

Incident on outer ring road

Let us tell you that this incident took place on the Outer Ring Road near HBR Layout in Bengaluru at around 10.30 am. Steel rod centering for erecting concrete pillars for 'Namma Metro' (Bengaluru Metro) fell on his scooter. The height of the pillar is said to be more than 40 feet and the weight is several tonnes. After the accident, the people present on the spot immediately rushed the woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old son to the nearest hospital, but both died during treatment.

Metro and government announced compensation

Namma Metro and the Government of Karnataka announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh each to the affected family. Talking to reporters in Dharwad, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai assured to investigate the incident and give compensation to the bereaved family. He said, 'I have just come to know about it, we will get it investigated... We will find out the reasons for the pole falling and will also give compensation.'

Describing the accident as unfortunate, the CM said that an inquiry would be conducted and a case would be registered against those responsible. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru East Bhimashankar S Guled said that on the basis of Lohit's complaint, a case has been registered and investigation will be done. After the accident, there was a jam on the road for some time. Many vehicles were passing through that route at the time of the accident.

FIR on 8 accused

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said that an FIR has been registered against 8 accused in the Bangalore Pillar incident case. This includes Chaitanya, director of Nagarjuna Construction Company, supervisor Lakshmipathy and junior engineer Prabhakar. We will take strict action against these people.
