IND vs SL: After Kuldeep-Siraj, KL Rahul showed power, India won the series by defeating Sri Lanka in the second ODI


India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI: The Indian cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the second ODI match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Thursday (January 12). With this, India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. In response to Sri Lanka's 215 runs, India won by losing 6 wickets in 43.2 overs. 

Rahul and Pandya saved

Chasing the target, the Indian team got off to a bad start and got the first blow in the form of captain Rohit Sharma (17) on a total score of 33 runs. After reaching 86 runs, Shumbhan Gill (21), Virat Kohli (4) and Shreyas Iyer (28) were also dismissed and returned to the pavilion.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya put on a 75-run partnership for the fifth wicket and got India out of a tight spot. Pandya scored 36 runs in 53 balls with the help of four fours. Rahul scored an unbeaten 64 in 103 balls with the help of six fours while scoring a brilliant half-century.

Kuldeep and Siraj did wonders

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, the Sri Lankan team got all out for 215 runs in 39.4 overs in front of the excellent bowling of Mohammad Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav. The Sri Lankan team had lost the first wicket on a total score of 29 runs. Then Nuwanidu Fernando and Kusal Mendis added 73 runs for the second wicket. When this partnership seemed to be dominating India, when Kuldeep came and dismissed Mendis and brought India back. 

At one stage Sri Lanka's score was 102-1 and then the entire team was all out for 215 runs in 39.4 overs.

Kuldeep, who was included in the team in place of Yuzvendra Chahal, took 3 wickets for 51 runs in his quota of ten overs. He made Kusal Mendis, Charith Aslanga and Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka his victims. Mohammad Siraj , running in excellent form, gave 30 runs and put 3 wickets in his account. Umran Malik took two and Akshar Patel took one wicket.
