Make this delicious khichdi at home on the day of Makar Sankranti, note the recipe

Makar Sankranti festival is celebrated every year on 14 January. This festival is celebrated in different ways in different parts of the country. Donation and bath have special importance on this day. Khichdi is also popularly prepared and eaten on this day . Eating Khichdi on this day is considered very auspicious. Khichdi fairs are also organized at many places. In such a situation, on the day of Makar Sankranti, you can make delicious Khichdi at home too. It is very easy to make and very tasty. Let's learn the method of making it.

Porridge Ingredients

One cup - small rice

One cup - Moong Dal

Oil

1/4 teaspoon hing

1 teaspoon cumin

2 inch - ginger

6 - garlic clove

2 – Onion – 2

1 – Tomato

1 to 2 green chilies

2 to 3 – curry leaves

2 – Potato

1/3 green peas

1 tsp – garam masala

1 tsp – Red chili powder

1 tsp – turmeric powder

6 cups – water

Khichdi Recipe

step 1

To make Khichdi, first mix rice and lentils together. After this wash both the things thoroughly.

Step – 2

After this heat the oil in the cooker. Now put hing in it. Along with enhancing the taste, it also keeps the digestive system healthy.

Step – 3

Now put a teaspoon cumin in it. After this add ginger and garlic to the oil. Cook them for a few minutes.

Step – 4

After this add onion and curry leaves to it. Let it cook on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Fry the onion till it turns light brown.

Step-5

Now add chopped tomatoes to this mixture. Break the green chilies and put them in it. Mix everything well. Now put 2 chopped potatoes in this mixture. Cook it for a few minutes.

Step – 6

Now add green peas to it. Add turmeric, red chili powder and garam masala to it. Mix all these things well.

Step – 7

Now add rice and lentils to this mixture. Fry the spices together for a minute. Due to this Sondha test comes in it.

Step-8

Now add water and salt to this mixture. Cook it till the whistle comes. Cook it till 4 whistles come.
