Who is Avni Chaturvedi?

Avani Chaturvedi was born in Kothikanchan village of Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. After completing his initial studies from Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh, he did engineering in computer science from Banasthali University, Rajasthan. His father is an engineer and mother a homemaker in the Water Resources Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. His maternal uncle Prem Prakash Sharma is a retired army colonel and his brother Nirabh is a captain in the army.

Avni Chaturvedi became a flying officer in July 2016 along with her batchmates Bhawna Kant and Mohana Singh. Prior to this, before 2016, women were not allowed to fly fighter planes in the Indian Army. She is the pilot of Su-30MKI.

Veer Guardian will be part of 2023

Avani Chaturvedi will be a part of the Veer Guardian 2023 exercise to be held in Japan. This air exercise is happening when China is showing its strength in the Indo-Pacific region. This exercise itself has been named Veer Guardian 2023. It will take place at Hyakura Air Base in Japan.

The Indian Air Force said on Saturday that India will send four Su-30MKI jets, two C-17 aircraft and 1 IL-78 plane for the exercise, while Japan will include four F-2 and four F-15 aircraft.
