This shows that in 2022, the demand for blue collar and gray collar jobs has increased in all sectors. The focus of companies has increased on digitization, automation and new work model, due to which the demand for these jobs has increased in all industries.

301% growth seen in vacancy

According to the data, there were 26,26,637 vacancies of blue and gray collar jobs in 2021, while in 2022 their number increased to 1,05,42,820. This shows an increase of about 301 percent. At the same time, a growth of 236 percent has been recorded in the number of people looking for blue and gray collar jobs.

Data shows that the focus of companies has been on skill based hiring. At the same time, companies have focused on recruitment in large numbers at one go to increase productivity and efficiency.

Most of the jobs in these cities

In this report, it is also known that in which cities the demand for blue collar or gray collar workers has been highest. In Delhi, where their demand has increased by 11.57 percent. And in Bengaluru it has been 11.55 percent. On the other hand, the demand for workers in this segment has increased by 10.21 percent in Mumbai, 7.78 percent in Hyderabad and 5.8 percent in Pune.

Blue collar workers are those people who do manual labor in companies. Most of their demand is in labor intensive industries like manufacturing, warehouse, mining. On the other hand, those people are called Gray Collar Worker, who are neither classified in White Collar Jobs nor in Blue Collar. These are generally people who do some work even after their retirement age.
