Dhokla Recipe: Everyone likes the taste of Gujarati food dish Dhokla. Sour-sweet Dhokla has also become very popular as a street food. Apart from being tasty, Dhokla is also a healthy food dish and it is loved by everyone, be it children or adults. Gram flour is mainly used to make Dhokla. Dhokla is very much liked as a snack. If you also like the taste of Dhokla and want to try this Gujarati recipe and prepare sweet and sour Dhokla at home, then you can easily make it with the help of our mentioned method.

Apart from gram flour, semolina and spices along with other ingredients are also used to make Dhokla. Dhokla can also be kept in children's tiffin. Children like their sour-sweet taste. Let's know the recipe for making Tasty Dhokla.

Ingredients to make Khatta-Meetha Dhokla

Gram flour – 1 cup

Semolina – 2 tbsp

Ginger paste – 1 tbsp

Green chili paste – 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Turmeric – 1/2 tsp

Powdered sugar – 3 tsp

Tartary – 1 tsp

Sugar - 1 tbsp

Curry leaves - 10-15

Green chilies cut from the middle - 3

Baking soda - 1/2 tsp

Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp

Oil - 1 tbsp

Salt - as per taste

Method of making sweet and

sour dhokla To make sweet and sour dhokla full of taste, first put gram flour in a utensil so that no kernels remain in it. After this, add semolina, turmeric ginger paste, chili paste, asafoetida, powdered sugar, tartar and a little salt to the gram flour and mix everything well with the gram flour. Now add water little by little. First slowly and then with the help of a volume whisker, whisk the solution rapidly for 4 to 5 minutes. After this keep the solution aside for 15 minutes.

Now put water in a pan to heat it and put a small stand on top of it. Now add baking soda to gram flour solution and mix it for 1 minute. After this, grease the baking mold with oil and pour gram flour batter in it. Now place this batter in the pan on top of the stand. Now cover the batter and steam it on medium flame for 20 to 25 minutes. After this turn off the gas flame. Even after this, do not remove the lid of the pan for 10 minutes.

Now for tempering, take a small pan and heat oil in it. After the oil is hot, first add mustard seeds, chopped green chilies and curry leaves. After roasting for a few seconds, add salt, sugar and 1 cup of water as per taste. When the water starts boiling, add lemon juice to it. Now take out the Dhokla in a plate and cut it into pieces with a knife. After this, spread the prepared tadka over the dhokla. Sweet and sour Dhokla full of taste is ready to serve.
