Career in Indian Air Force: After passing 12th, you can make a career in the Indian Air Force. Indian Airforce gives you many opportunities to fly high. Know what is the process to join IAF after class 12?

Career in IAF After 12th Class: Giving 12th exam, thinking of making a career with Indian Air Force, then you have only opportunities. Vacancies keep coming throughout the year. 12th pass youth can apply for Group X and Group Y posts in the Indian Air Force. To become an officer one has to apply for NDA.

GROUP X: The youth who are recruited in this group get technical work. Looking at Air Force interest and qualification, there is a rule of deployment in other technical teams including mechanical, electrical.

GROUP Y: On being selected in this, deployment is available on non-technical positions. Such youth often become a part of teams like account, admin, personal.

Internal Promotion: There are also opportunities for the youth involved in both the groups to become officers. Through the vacancy of internal promotion, the Air Force gives opportunities to its employees to become officers.

NDA: Opportunities to become an officer in the Indian Air Force also come through NDA. UPSC conducts this exam twice a year. Through this exam, after three years of training, youths are selected for the Army, Air Force and Navy and sent to the respective academy for training.

Physical Standards: Candidates desirous of applying for recruitment under Group-X and Y in the Indian Air Force should have a minimum height of 152 cm.

Selection Process: Any youth who wants to join the Indian Airforce has to appear in the written test first. Group-X candidates are asked questions from Physics, Maths and English. Group-Y applicants are asked questions from Reasoning and General Knowledge, English.

Colonel Rakesh Mishra (retired) says that 20-20 questions of Maths and Physics are asked. The youth have to face 10-10 questions of English and GK. After passing it is called for physical efficiency test, medical fitness etc. According to Colonel Mishra, this is a great opportunity for inter pass youth. With a little focused preparation, success can be achieved in this exam. Vacancy for different groups comes many times up to three-four times in a year.
