Medicine instead of cheating! 140 million people stood up for earthquake-torn Turkey

India has been helping Turkey since the 1970s. However, Turkey helped Pakistan in the 1965 and 1971 wars. Despite this, India has always helped Turkey. Now in the earthquake tragedy, Prime Minister Modi has announced to send medical aid to Turkey.

In view of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and the huge damage caused by it, India has come forward to help. Although relations between India and Turkey have not been normal for decades. India has always helped Turkey, but India has always been betrayed by that side. Recently, Turkey had taken a step against India by forming a committee on Kashmir in its Parliament. But on this delicate occasion, India has proved by standing with Turkey in every way that the country understands its responsibilities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the severe earthquake in Turkey and said that India stands with Turkey in this hour of crisis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the sympathies of 140 crore people of India are with the earthquake victims. India is sending all kinds of assistance to Turkey on this occasion.

A meeting was also held in the PMO regarding the Turkey disaster. Where it was decided to send medical and rescue team to Turkey. A 100-member NDRF team, dog squad, team of doctors, relief material are also being sent to Turkey for assistance.

Turkey only gave pain to India

During the Cold War, the distance between India and Turkey increased considerably. On the other hand, Turkey and Pakistan went on becoming friends. Turkey helped Pakistan a lot in the Indo-Pakistani wars of 1965 and 1971. When Turkey attacked Cyprus in 1974, the distance from India increased. Along with this, Turkey has always been supporting Pakistan on international forums regarding Kashmir.

Turkey offered military help during the Cold War

The relation between India and Turkey is years old. Whenever there was a crisis on Turkey, India was always ready to help. India has provided financial and technical assistance to Turkey on several occasions. In fact, since the 1970s, India has been extending loans, grants and technical assistance to Turkey in the fields of agriculture, health, education and infrastructure.

From the era of the Cold War till the Kovid period, India has helped Turkey many times from economic to financial. In the nineties, when the conflict between Turkey and the Kurds was going on, India offered help to Turkey. India then provided military help to Turkey.

India also helped in World Trade Organization

India also offered Turkey's help in the fight against the Kurdish separatist group PKK in Turkey. At the same time, political support was given for Turkey's accession to the European Union. India has also been a vocal supporter of Turkey's efforts to join the global trade bloc and the World Trade Organisation. India has also clarified its role on the issue of regional security and terrorism and has shared intelligence and provided training for Turkish security forces. Apart from this, India also stands with Turkey in its efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian conflict.

Pandemic help

In the year 2020, when the world was moaning due to the havoc of Kovid, in that condition India was taking care of itself, it was also helping many other countries of the world. In this sequence, India also helped Turkey. India sent necessary medical facilities to Kovid affected (COVID-19) Turkey. Which also includes PPE kits, ventilators and vaccines. Apart from these facilities, India had also sent a medical team on the ground in Turkey. Keeping the promise of its friendship, India had also provided financial help to Turkey to improve the economy ruined by Kovid. In August 2020, India gave $ 100 million to Turkey to deal with the epidemic.
