2000 rupee note: why it is disappearing, neither in ATM nor in your hand, here are the complete details

2000 rupee notes are not visible in the market as before. In fact, the Reserve Bank of India had also made it clear in its annual report that there has been a decrease in the circulation of these notes.

You must not have forgotten that day when the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi announced on TV at 8 o'clock in the night that now 500 and 1000 rupee notes will not work. Yes… We are talking about demonetisation. 2000 rupee note came in the market after demonetisation. Remember, after demonetisation, when you used to stand in line at the ATM, mostly you used to see only 2000 rupee note.

That time was such that whether ATM or market.. Pink color note of 2000 rupees used to be visible everywhere. With the passage of time, the round of allegations and counter-allegations started and gradually these pink notes went on decreasing from the market. In fact, it was alleged that instead of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, this new note has started becoming the king of black marketing.

Why and where pink notes started disappearing

That was also the time when you used to see this pink note of 2000 rupees everywhere. Even now at a time when this note is hardly visible in ATM or market. Regarding this note, the question-answer round started till the Parliament. When these notes started disappearing slowly, questions started arising in the Parliament as to where these notes are going, whether the Reserve Bank of India has stopped printing them. Are the old notes not being put in the ATM by the banks?

Why 2000 notes are not available in ATM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman herself answered these questions in the Parliament. Sitharaman said in the Parliament that we have instructed the banks that whether they put 2000 notes in ATMs or not, it is their choice. Let's talk about the shortage of 2000 notes in ATMs.. Now let's see where these 2000 rupee notes are disappearing from the market.

Why are 2000 notes disappearing from the market?

2000 rupee notes are not visible in the market as before. In fact, the Reserve Bank of India had also made it clear in its annual report that there has been a decrease in the circulation of these notes. According to the Annual Report of RBI, the printing of Rs 2000 notes has stopped since the year 2019-20. Means the notes which are now visible in the market are old notes. Due to non-availability of new notes, the circulation of this note has reduced in the market. Because of which these notes are now rarely seen in the market.

What about the notes that are already there

It is a good thing that now new notes of 2000 rupees are not being printed, but those which are already present in the market are completely valid. In such a situation, if someone hesitates to take your note, then you can complain about it to the bank. RBI also keeps warning customers about this from time to time. Even in the year 2021, during a question, Union Minister Anurag Thakur had made it clear that not a single new note of Rs 2000 has been printed since the year 2020, but the notes which are in the market are completely valid.
