Adani group Stocks: Morris Chang, who was at the center of Adani Group's alleged relations with China, said, "I am a citizen of Taiwan." Controversy was seen in the past regarding his citizenship. Chang is the Director of PMC Projects (India) Private Limited. The company builds ports, terminals, rail lines, power transmission lines and other infrastructure for the Adani Group. Due to his passport, he was being called a Chinese citizen and thus the Adani group was linked to China.
In response to questions sent by email, he said, "I am a citizen of Taiwan. My passport shows that I am a citizen of the 'Republic of China', now officially known as Taiwan. This is different from China, which is officially called the 'People's Republic of China'.
The opposition Congress had used Chang's alleged Chinese identity to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's government. The Congress asked why Adani was allowed to operate ports in India despite its alleged links with China and security concerns were not taken into account.
He, however, did not respond to questions about the projects being completed by the PMC with the Adani group. PMC is also accused of inflating the price of imported equipment for Adani group companies. Chang said, “I am a well-established industrialist in Taiwan. I have business interests in the areas of global trade, shipping, infrastructure projects, ship breaking. ,
He further said, “As far as the Adani group is concerned, the matter is sub judice. In such a situation, it is not right to say anything on this. "Chang said," It is very unfortunate that my nationality is being questioned and it is being made a political issue. I have already told you about my citizenship. I have nothing to do with politics.
