The BCCI has announced a squad of 15 players for the final of the World Test Championship (WTC 2023 Final) to be held in June. The final of the World Test Championship will be played between India and Australia at the Kingston Oval in London from June 7 to 11. Veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane has returned to the Indian Test team. While on one hand all cricket fans are happy about Ajinkya Rahane's return to the international team, meanwhile there are some fans who have trolled the BCCI for their selection process.
In fact, cricket fans believe that the BCCI does not select players based on their performance in domestic cricket but on the basis of their performance in IPL in the international team. That's why Ajinkya Rahane's return to the Indian team comes after his stupendous performance in IPL 2023.
Responding on Twitter, a user wrote, 'Ajinkya Rahane got place in the Test team because of his IPL form. Sarfaraz Khan missed the opportunity due to IPL form. I will not be surprised if Sarfaraz quits playing Ranji and scores runs in IPL and earns a place in the Indian team. I am sure then he will get a chance in the team.
Another user wrote, 'Rahane got a place in the Test team over Sarfaraz because he did well in IPL. This proves that Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments have zero value in the eyes of the selectors. If you want a place in the Indian team, you have to score runs in the IPL.
Let us inform that Ajinkya Rahane played his last Test match for the Indian team against South Africa on January 11, 2022. Significantly, before the IPL, Ajinkya Rahane also performed brilliantly in the first class tournament Ranji Trophy. Mumbai captain Rahane scored a total of 634 runs in 11 innings of 7 matches at an average of 58. During this, 2 centuries and a half-century came out of his bat. It also included a big innings of 204 runs. On the other hand, if we talk about Rahane's Test cricket career, he has so far scored a total of 4931 runs in 82 matches for India at an average of 38.52.
