Assam Bihu Dance Guinness World Record: On the occasion of Rongali festival celebrated on the new year of Assam, folk dance Bihu and traditional music have registered their names in the Guinness Book of World Records. Bihu dancers and drummers performed at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday (April 13). Bihu artists have set two different world records.
The first record is about the biggest ethnic dance performance at one place while the second record is about the biggest traditional music performance at one place. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his cabinet minister Ashok Singhal gave information about this by tweeting. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present in the stadium on the occasion of making the world record.
CM Sarma expressed happiness
Expressing happiness, CM Sarma said in a tweet, "Today we participated in the competition for two world records in Sarusajai. 11,304 dancers and drummers performed Bihu, which has never happened before. 2548 Dhulias performed breaking the old world record of 1356 drums. PM Modi will visit Assam
Earlier, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also remembered the tweet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He wrote, "Sharing memorable glimpses of today's megabihu rehearsal on the eve of the respected Prime Minister's visit to Assam. Looks like we have made a place in the Guinness Book of World Records today. Let us tell you that on April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Assam to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects. According to reports, the Bihu artistes had been rehearsing for the event for a long time. Auditions were held across the state to include artists in it.
