CSK VS LSG IPL 2023: The 6th match of IPL 2023 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. In this match, Chennai Super Kings performed brilliantly and defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs. Batting first, Chennai Super Kings scored 217 runs in 20 overs and gave Lucknow a target of 218 runs to win the match, but Lucknow's team could only score runs in 20 overs. 

CSK openers played stormy innings

Chennai Super Kings openers Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway shared an aggressive 110-run partnership for the first wicket. Rituraj Gaikwad played an aggressive innings of 57 off 31 balls, while Devon Conway scored 47 off 29 balls. In the middle order, Shivam Dubey and Ambati Rayudu played innings of 27-27 runs. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit two back to back sixes in the last over to finish the match brilliantly and set Lucknow Super Giant a target of 218 runs in 20 overs to win the match. Mark Wood was the most successful bowler for Lucknow Super Giants. Mark Wood took three wickets for 49 runs in four overs.

CSK gave a huge target of 218 runs to Lucknow

Chasing Chennai Super Kings' target of 218 runs, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a good start. KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers shared a 79-run partnership for the first wicket. But captain KL Rahul got out after scoring just 20 runs. After which Kyle Mayers also went on to score 53 runs off 22 balls. After which Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran tried to handle the innings in the middle order.

Lucknow's middle order flopped

Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran tried to bat aggressively but got out. Stoinis got out after scoring 21 runs in 18 balls, while Puran got out after scoring 32 runs in 18 balls. Apart from Kyle Mayers, Puran and Stoinis, no batsman in the team could play a big innings. In reply to Chennai Super Kings' 218 runs, Lucknow managed just one run in 20 overs. Moeen Ali has been the most successful bowler for Chennai Super Kings. Moeen Ali took 4 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs.
