Keshab Mahindra, Chairman Emeritus of Mahindra & Mahindra, said goodbye to the world on Wednesday at the age of 99. As an alumnus of Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Mahindra played a key role in transforming Mahindra & Mahindra from a mere assembler of Willys Jeeps into a conglomerate in India. Under his leadership, the Mahindra Group expanded its portfolio beyond tractors and sports vehicles, with a valuation of $19 billion. Engaged in software services and real estate sector.

In 1987, Keshab Mahindra was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Legion d'Honneur by the French Government. Keshab Mahindra has also been a member of Prime Minister's Council of Trade and Industry, New Delhi from 2004 to 2010.

Mahindra Group developed as a federation

Bhopal court had sentenced to imprisonment

Keshab Mahindra also served on a large number of boards and councils in the public and private sector. Let us tell you that in 2010, a Bhopal court convicted all the 7 accused including Mahindra in the Bhopal gas accident case and sentenced them to maximum two years imprisonment. At that time he was the non-executive president of Union Carbide.
