WhatsApp Scam Alert:
A fake message is being circulated on WhatsApp claiming that the Government of India is providing free mobile recharge for Indian users. Know here what is the whole matter.

Government of India is giving free mobile recharge to Indian users! Have you also received such a message? If you have not received this message then you are safe. Yes, in fact, as we are becoming dependent on online banking, scammers are targeting innocent people under online banking. Recently, a case has come to light in which a fake message is being circulated on WhatsApp claiming that the Government of India is giving free mobile recharge to Indian users.

In such a situation, scammers send fraudulent messages which look exactly like bank messages. In this, scammers ask you to update your account details or PAN card information through messages.

Government is not giving free recharge

According to reports, a WhatsApp message claims that the central government is giving free recharge of Rs 239 to all Indian users. This message is being circulated on the messaging platform. According to the message, the recharge will be of 28 days validity and will ask users to click on a link. However, PIB Fact Check has announced on Twitter that this message is completely fake and the government has not announced any such scheme.

How to avoid fake messages?

- If you want that you should never be a victim of such messages, then first of all pay attention to the language of the message. The language of such messages is usually not correct and there are a lot of grammar mistakes in it.

- In such a situation, you can guess yourself that this message is fake because normally official messages are written from non-credible sources.

- Apart from this, note that the message asking to click on any link should be read carefully. There should not be any haste in these messages. In such a situation, if you feel that this link is unofficial, then avoid clicking on it.

- In such a situation, you can check by searching on Google also, there is a possibility that you get the report of the message being fake here.
