During an interview to news agency PTI on Thursday, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu said in the discussion that this year is going to be very big as India is chairing the G20 and the US is chairing the Asia Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC). is hosting.
He further said that Japan is also hosting G7 this year. We have many quad members who are in leadership roles. And this is an opportunity when all the countries can come closer to each other and the relations can be strengthened. He said that President Joe Biden may visit India in September, which will be his first visit to India where he will participate in the G20 Leaders Summit.
He said that America is very excited about Biden's visit to India. Only three months have passed this year and a lot is yet to come. In this, Secretary of State Tony Blinken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo will also visit India.
He said that India is doing very positive work as G20 President. In March, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had an important meeting with the foreign ministers of the QUAD. This type of public meeting was held for the first time with the Foreign Ministers of QUAD which made it clear that these four countries are coming together to support each other.
