New Delhi: Before the next year's Lok Sabha elections, the exercise to strengthen the opposition alliance has intensified. In this episode, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Delhi on Wednesday to meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav were also present during the meeting at Kharge's residence.

Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and JDU President Lalan Singh were also present along with Nitish Kumar who went to meet Kharge's residence. On the other hand, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also reached Kharge's residence for a meeting. A video has also surfaced regarding the meeting in which all the veteran leaders of JDU are seen.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha was also seen in the meeting. At present, there is a JDU-RJD coalition government in Bihar, in such a situation veteran leaders of both the parties are present in Delhi. It is being told that the strategy for the next year's Lok Sabha elections can be discussed in this meeting.

There has been talk of opposition unity for some time now to encircle the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, which has been holding power at the Center for two consecutive terms. The leaders of Nitish Kumar's party do not hold back from saying that he can be the face of the opposition on many occasions. On the other hand, the Congress considers itself the center of the opposition alliance.

Prominent leader of Janata Dal United, Nitish Kumar has long given his opinion while warning Congress opposition parties that all opposition parties should join hands to prevent BJP from scoring a hat-trick in next year's Lok Sabha elections.

About 2 months back in February also, Nitish Kumar had emphasized on the opinion regarding opposition unity that if all the opposition including Congress unite and contest the Lok Sabha elections, then BJP will suffer huge losses and their seats will fall below 100.
