Pakistani Taliban: Along with the economic crisis in Pakistan, the terrorist crisis is also deepening. If we look at the pattern of attacks by 'Pakistani Taliban', it is known that they are specifically targeting the police. In the past, several attacks have been carried out targeting the police.
Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan: 'Pakistani Taliban' is emerging as the biggest enemy for Pakistan. The terrorist organization known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has now changed its target. They are especially targeting the police in the urban areas. In the midst of economic crises, the 'terrorist crisis' is a double whammy on Pakistan, which produces terror.
There have been many such attacks this year, which shows that the 'Pakistani Taliban' are spreading their terror rapidly. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or the 'Pakistani Taliban' claims to be separate from the Afghan Taliban, but both groups have the same plan - 'to create an Islamic emirate, where laws are based on Sharia'. Relations are also strained between Pakistan and the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, where Afghanistan harbors TTP fighters. The 'Pakistani Taliban' has spread terror here for 16 years.
TTP strengthened after Taliban occupation of Afghanistan
TTP has gained a lot of strength after the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August 2021. Since 2021, this terrorist organization has become very active within Pakistan and carried out many deadly attacks in the last year and a half. TTP fighters used to hide in the North West of Pakistan, and they also had a base in Afghanistan. Later, after coming to power, the Taliban openly started sheltering TTP fighters.
Difference between words and deeds of Taliban
Taliban leaders have been saying that they will not allow TTP to use the soil of Afghanistan to attack any country, including Pakistan. However, there is a difference between the words and actions of the Afghan Taliban. It is believed that the big leaders of TTP hide in the shelter of Taliban Afghan. The previous Afghan government had jailed several TTP leaders for illegally crossing the border and carrying out terrorist activities, but they were released after the Taliban regime came to power.
TTP attacks in Pakistan
On February 17, three terrorists entered a police station in Karachi. They were armed with hand grenades and modern weapons. Four people were killed in the attack by the assailants. Later, three attackers were killed by the security forces. The 'Pakistani Taliban' had taken responsibility for this attack. Earlier on January 30, the 'Pakistani Taliban' had blasted a mosque in Peshawar. At least 100 people, mostly policemen, were killed in the attack on the mosque.
In Mianwali district of Punjab, Pakistan, the terrorist had attacked the police station with an automatic weapon. Not only this, another police station was attacked in Makkaral area. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan carried out an attack in Quetta on 5 February. Here TTP suicide bomber killed more than 80 people.
TTP influence in Pakistan
There is a wave of terrorism going on in Pakistan. Pakistan has witnessed innumerable terrorist attacks in the last two decades. Especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is in the grip of terror. At the same time, the area of Balochistan and Mianwali is also affected by terrorism. According to media reports, TTP is trying to strengthen its roots around Islamabad as well. There were more or less 44 terrorist attacks in Pakistan in the month of January, in which 134 people lost their lives.
Since November 2022, there has been an increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The TTP ended the months-long ceasefire with the attacks. The 'Pakistani Taliban' regularly fire or bomb. The remote areas of North-West Pakistan are badly affected by TTP and this area is considered to be a stronghold of TTP. Apart from these, the North-Western region of Waziristan is also seriously affected by TTP terror.
