Shikhar Dhawan was appointed as the new captain of Punjab Kings for this IPL season. He led the team to victory in the first two matches and also scored runs with the bat but his team lost in the last match. Shikhar Dhawan alone stood at one end and played an unbeaten inning of 99 runs to take the team to a respectable score.

Shikhar Dhawan has scored 225 runs in 3 matches played so far this season, in which he remained unbeaten twice. He played an unbeaten inning of 86 runs against Rajasthan Royals and remained unbeaten on 99 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhawan is at the first place in the list of scoring the most runs and is holding the Orange Cap.
