'Little India' in Australia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Australia in May. But the NRIs living in Sydney are already waiting for him. The reason behind this is the demand for 'Little India' . Ahead of PM Modi's visit to Australia, the Indian community is demanding the name of a Sydney suburb as 'Little India'.

According to ABC News, 'Little India' is the name used for a group of Indian restaurants and shops in the Sydney suburb of Harris Park. The Indian community is now insisting on naming the entire area as 'Little India'. They believe that keeping this name will attract tourists to this area.

The first proposal was introduced in 2015

According to Sanjay Deshwal, president of the Little India Harris Park Business Association, the first proposal to officially name the area as 'Little India' was presented in 2015.
