Theybies: There is no difference between son and daughter, know what is 'Debies' culture, whose trend is increasing worldwide

Scott Rubin, author of the book Naming Your Little Greek, says that it is going on like a campaign all over the world. Under this, no restriction is being imposed on their toys to clothes.

Changes are being made from the workplace to the law to remove the difference between men and women around the world and for equality. Now the matter is not limited to adults only. Parents are trying to bridge the gap even in the case of children. To end this difference, the concept of Theybies has been brought which is becoming increasingly popular all over the world. Know what is this concept and its advantages and disadvantages.

Debij means neither boy nor girl. Parents adopting this culture are using neutral gender for their child. Suppose a boy is born in a house, then instead of using the word boy, they use the word Debij to tell the good news to the world. Debij is made up of two words – De (They) and Baby (Baby). In this way the word is being used for neutral gender.

Scott Rubin, author of the book Naming Your Little Greek, says that it is going on like a campaign all over the world. Under this, no restriction is being imposed on their toys to clothes. They are not being forced to do what a child of that gender should do. Like- not allowing boys to play with dolls or girls to play with boys etc.

Why this concept is being adopted, now let's understand it. In the NBC News report, Julia, who was an engineer by profession, says that gender discrimination among children bothers her. I worked in a male dominated engineering sector and realized how gender affects personality. It has also been proved in a research that the skill of women is always underestimated.

Now let's know why Debij's concept is being criticized. Many parents are criticizing this concept. They say that the world is divided into two parts, men and women. In such a situation, in which category the children of neutral gender will consider themselves to be a part of, this thing will become a challenge for them. British psychotherapist Mark Wahrmayer, who works on gender issues, says that due to this concept, children can be bullied in schools and society. Their feelings can be hurt.
