Birla Group's UltraTech Cement's consolidated profit fell 36 percent in the fourth quarter of FY 2022-23. The company has made a profit of Rs 1,666 crore in the January-March quarter. While it was Rs 2,620 crore in the same quarter of the financial year 2021-22. However, the company's board has announced a dividend of Rs 38 to each shareholder in the financial year ending March 2023.
UltraTech Cement is the largest cement company in the country. In the fourth quarter, the company has increased its annual production capacity by 5.6 million tonnes. Now the company will produce 12.69 crore tonnes of cement every year in the country.
Increased revenue and operating profit
The company's income has increased by 18 percent in January-March. It has been Rs 18,562 crore. At the same time, the company's operating profit, which is calculated before paying taxes etc., has also increased by 9 percent to Rs 3,444 crore.
During this period, the company has sold 3.17 crore tonnes of cement. This is a record in itself and is 14 percent more than the same quarter last year. At the same time, compared to the October-December quarter, this sale of the company is 22 percent more.
Sales increased in the Indian market, exports fell
The total sale of UltraTech Cement in the Indian market has increased by 15 percent to 30.5 million tonnes. At the same time, 95 percent of the total capacity of the company's plants has been produced. On the other hand, if seen in the gray cement category, the domestic sales of UltraTech Cement have increased by 15 percent to 29.9 million tonnes. While the sales in foreign countries have fallen by 2 percent to 1.3 million tonnes.
At the same time, the white cement business of the company has also seen a growth of 19 percent. Although this is a very small part of its total business. In January-March, the company has sold 5 lakh tonnes of white cement. The company also sells readymix concrete. The company's readymix now has 231 plants in more than 100 cities across the country.
